For over 15 years, DECO has been a leader in quality in-house testing and providing compliant products and finishing services to the architectural, defence, engineering, commercial food and medical markets. DECO’s extensive in-house testing procedures have always ensured our range of architectural products and industrial finishes are high-quality and compliant with Australian and International Standards.
DECO’s independent testing arm, DECO Testing Pty Ltd, offers third-party NATA-accredited testing to surface finishers and protective coatings companies Australia wide, all undertaken at our well-equipped testing laboratory in South-West Sydney.
DECO Testing has comprehensive capabilities for testing a variety of surface finishes according to Australian and International Standards.

ISO 9001
DECO is certified compliant business-wide with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 by DNV-GL, for the provision of metal finishing services such as Powder Coating, Anodising, Hard Anodising, Electroplating, E-Coating, Chromate Conversions, Slurry Peening and Mechanical Finishing, certifying that they meet consumer needs and statutory requirements.
MIL SPEC
All DECO Testing’s standard operating procedures are MIL SPEC compliant. MIL SPEC is a US military specification that has been adopted worldwide, which ensures products meet requirements for defence objectives.
DECO Testing procedures comply with the following aspects of MIL SPEC:
Anodising process control: MIL-A-8625F, type 2 (sulfuric acid anodising) and type 3 (hard coat anodising).
Aluminium Alloy Conversion Coating: MIL DTL-5541F
DECO Testing follow Qualicoat standards as the international standard for powder coating of aluminium for architectural applications.
