Arcare Aged Care Facility, Seven Hills

Nestled within the Clearwater Urban Village precinct, Arcare Seven Hills is a state-of-the-art new aged care facility designed with the look and feel of a high-end resort. Situated in a prime location surrounded by large outdoor parks, remnant bushland, townhouses and apartments, Arcare Seven Hills encourages its residents to enjoy lush bush scenery while still feeling connected to the local community. The main entry and community areas are positioned for best access to northern sunlight, while central courtyards and private balconies give residents the option to socialise or enjoy quiet moments to themselves.

“The facility has been designed to achieve best practice in aged care design, with premium finishes to create a resort-like atmosphere for the residents”, said architect David Stay of Elevation Architecture.

When it came to choosing façade and ceiling cladding for the resort, Elevation Architecture sought products that would complement the lush landscaping surrounding the building, add warmth and texture and soften the white exterior of the facility. Arcare also wished to display practical, functional and durable products which would effectively represent their 5-star brand and stand out in the community.

Australian products designed for Australian conditions and regulations were essential – so turning to DECO, a family-owned Australian business, was the ideal solution.

DecoClad® was specified for the project in two profiles: V-Groove for external ceilings and Weatherboard for the façade. Both these beautiful cladding profiles recreate popular timber cladding styles in aluminium and were chosen for their ability to replicate native Australian timbers. The high-quality, Super Durable™ DecoWood® finish offers the appearance and warmth of real timber, with minimal ongoing maintenance required for the building life of the product and quick, easy installation. DecoWood® Casuarina provided the perfect finish, as it represents a locally well-known coastal species, enhancing the feel of a high-end coastal resort while providing comforting familiarity for its residents.

DecoClad® was also specified for its non-combustible properties – a paramount consideration when choosing building products for a Type A Construction Aged Care building. Made from solid aluminium and compliant with AS 1530.1 and AS 1530.3, DecoClad® is a fire-safe cladding option which still allows residents to enjoy the natural, coastal look and feel of timber.

The outcome was a beautiful, warm and welcoming façade, offering a sense of luxury and familiarity to its residents, that can reflect Arcare’s brand and devotion to quality care.
