Completed in 2020, the restaurant and function centre was designed to echo the original 1948 timber-cladded building, but with a modern, sustainable twist.
Five years on, the DecoClad® façade in DecoWood® Silky Oak looks almost as fresh as the day it was installed. Exposed to strong western sun and cool Highlands winters, the aluminium cladding has resisted fading, warping and the need for re-staining, challenges that would have been unavoidable with natural timber.

Builders Rohrig chose over 3000sqm of DecoClad®’s 135mm Narrowline profile to capture the warmth and character of wood, while future-proofing the building against structural decline and maintenance demands. Both the cladding and finish have held up beautifully, saving countless hours in upkeep and still delivering the classic timber look the clients wanted.
Manufactured in Australia, the Super Durable ™ DecoWood® powder coating and sublimated woodgrain finish continues to prove its resilience in the face of Australia’s harsh climatic conditions.
