Sitting high above the Lorne coastline in regional Victoria, this residential property boasts extraordinary views of the Bass Strait. A remarkable position, but one that required thorough research and planning when it came to what building materials to use on the property.
The brief was simple: Design a home that complements its stunning location, incorporating a high-performing facade that will withstand the harsh conditions of its surrounding environment.
Impacted by salt spray, direct sunlight, and located in Bushfire Prone Area, the owners opted for DecoClad® for much of the house façade. The solid aluminium cladding offered a BAL40 fire zone rating and the Super Durable DecoWood® finish offered the adequate protection against salt spray and UV rays.
As well as meeting these key requirements, DecoClad® also met the criteria of a low maintenance, natural timber-look product.
The DecoClad® V-Groove profile offers the finished project a traditional-looking, flush cladding profile, whilst the DecoWood® Weathered Timber finish created a contemporary, soft design feature that compliments the surrounding gumtrees and oceans views effortlessly.
