Overlooking Buderim’s coastline, the Bairnsdale House blends sophisticated Box Modern architecture and clean, contemporary lines to create a polished, minimalist aesthetic.
The two-story residence was thoughtfully designed to maximise the Sunshine Coast’s Ocean views and embrace the natural light, with an L-shaped layout that blends into the landscape.
‘Our original brief was an L-shaped home that incorporated a range of natural materials including concrete, natural stone, timber, and a blonde brick wall that would frame the back yard and pool area.’ says General Manager, Tayna King from Cross Construction.
Surrounded by clean whites, the facade design is given warmth and texture thanks to the subtle natural tones of the DecoWood® Curly Birch finish across the batten garage door. Using the lightweight DecoBatten® QuickClick® 25x25mm system, the garage sits aback from the bold white exterior two-story façade to create a subtle contrast whilst enhancing the home’s structure and height.
As well as the beautiful DecoWood® aesthetic, the builders at Cross Constructions valued the easy installation and long-lasting performance that DecoBatten® could offer.
‘We had used DecoBatten on a previous build and valued a product that required low maintenance, was simple to install, and had colours that would suit the aesthetic of our home.’
‘The colour-matched end caps are also a clever design by DecoBatten that result in a seamless and consistent finish particularly on a garage door where these are seen on a daily basis.’
The Bairnsdale House is a core example of how thoughtful design and smart material choices can work together to create a visually striking modern home.
