Stuart Park Primary School

Stuart Park Primary school is a fast-growing school in the Darwin region, with a strong focus on student wellbeing. When it came time to create new decks for the school’s playground, it was important to choose not only a product that would reflect the natural beauty of the area, but one that was durable, could withstand frequent foot traffic, and would keep the students safe from slips, trips and falls.

DecoDeck® timber-look decking provided the perfect solution, having been approved for use in schools by the NT government. With a special slip-resistant powder coating, DecoDeck® achieves a P4 slip rating, making it perfect for students to walk on with reduced risk of slipping and falling, even in wet weather. This slip resistance was also important to ensure the raised steps around the decking area were also safe to walk on without serious risk of falling.

The lightweight, low-maintenance decking board provided not only the ideal deck for a school setting, but a perfect amphitheatre for students to sit on. Because DecoDeck® does not exceed ambient temperature, and conducts heat evenly across the board, this also made it a suitable product for students to sit on, even on hot Darwin days.
