The Plateau Project, showcased on the front cover of Vogue Living, is a striking example of modern Australian family living. Designed and owned by acclaimed fashion photographer Georges Antoni, the home balances refined architecture with a warm, natural aesthetic—resulting in a space that feels both sophisticated and deeply livable.
From the outset, the vision was clear: create a home that evolves with the family. Every design decision reflects this goal, blending timeless materials with contemporary forms to achieve a cohesive, enduring aesthetic. Natural textures, clean lines and a restrained palette work together to create a calm, elevated environment throughout.
With three young children, functionality was just as important as form. The brief centred on designing a home that is safe, adaptable and welcoming—without compromising on visual impact.
A Cohesive Exterior with DecoBatten®
A standout feature of the home is the garage door, where architecture and practicality meet seamlessly. To maintain the home’s natural, timber-inspired aesthetic, Antoni sought a material that would complement the surrounding finishes while meeting strict fire safety requirements.
DecoBatten® provided the ideal solution. Delivering the warmth and visual appeal of timber in a non-combustible aluminium system, it allowed the design to remain consistent without compromise. The chosen finish integrates effortlessly with the home’s façade, enhancing its clean lines and understated elegance.
The result is a garage door that feels like an intentional architectural element rather than an afterthought—adding depth, texture and visual continuity to the exterior.
