Subi East Redevelopment

Subiaco East Redevelopment, or Subi East, is a transformative urban project in Perth, Western Australia.

Designed by UDLA and OCULUS in partnership with Hames Sharley for Development WA, the former Subiaco Oval site has been transformed into a vibrant inner-city village, accommodating over 4000 residents while celebrating local culture, football history, and environmental sustainability.

Street Furniture Australia’s ‘Linea collection’ of aluminium outdoor furniture was specified within the space to provide durable and beautiful social seating within the precinct. The combination of picnic settings, curved benches and park bench seating were all finished by DECO in a customer Super Durable DecoWood® timbergrain finish to seamlessly integrate into the surrounding environment.

Providing a superior finish that is marine grade and UV-resistant ensures the outdoor furniture will withstand Perth’s harsh environment, providing a low-maintenance and long-term solution for the precinct management.

Notably, the initiative includes the Aboriginal Development Manager program, recognised with a UDIA WA Judges award. This program integrates Noongar Whadjuk traditions through the interpretive Bidi trail, connecting visitors to indigenous knowledge and cultural heritage across the precinct.
